Full job description
We are currently looking for a Part-Time Painting and Drawing Teacher for our Kids and Teens weekend classes to join our creative team.
You MUST be able to teach traditional oil painting, acrylic, watercolour, and drawing techniques.
This position is NOT for digital or abstract art.

The chosen works must demonstrate your abilities in drawing and painting techniques in a naturalistic/classic style.
Do not include contemporary or abstract art.

Who Are You?
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of fine art techniques in the academic tradition and will be responsible for teaching our weekend Kids/Teens art courses.
We are looking for a passionate teacher who can provide excellent guidelines in applying techniques and materials.
You must possess patience and a willingness to teach children and teenage students from different backgrounds and skill levels.
You should have previous experience teaching drawing and painting and a strong portfolio.
Experience teaching children in an art context is desirable.
An artistic academic background is required, with an excellent understanding of techniques and the use of oil paint, acrylics, watercolours, and charcoal.
You must be able to recognise the needs and skill levels of each student and adapt your tuition accordingly.
You should have a solid understanding of human anatomy for life drawing lessons.
Hours
You will work 1 day a week (Saturday or Sunday), delivering on-site art courses (usually for 4 hours a day) which can be flexible.
This flexibility means you will be able to pursue your other commitments outside of the Centre.
The on-site classes have a maximum of 10 students.
Probation Period:
You will work on a probation period for 2 months.
After this period, you can choose to continue with the same working hours as a freelancer or consider the opportunity to work more hours by having one-to-one students.
Pay Rate and Benefits
£20 per hour for on-site classes.
Opportunity for the teacher to exhibit their work in our gallery and be featured on our website/social media.
