Hello! I’m Kat, the founder of Hamster Helper a small but growing handmade pet business based in the UK that creates safe, ethical and enriching products for hamsters. I’m looking for a reliable, organised, UK-based Virtual Assistant to help me with a range of admin, logistics, and small business support tasks a few hours a month.
This is a very flexible, casual role to start with, but there's potential to grow over time if it's a good fit. Ideally, you’re someone who loves ticking things off lists, solving little problems, and helping indie businesses run more smoothly behind the scenes.
🌿 Tasks you might help with:
* Chasing up Royal Mail when parcels go missing 😬
* Responding to product reviews (with the help of AI-generated drafts) 🤖
* Researching new UK suppliers for packaging, ingredients, and tools 🛍️
* Updating and replacing guides in Google Drive & Canva 📚
* Light Shopify or Etsy admin (e.g. updating listings or shipping profiles) 🛒
* Reordering items from regular suppliers 💳
* Researching tools, plugins, or platforms to improve automation or upsells 👀
* Helping brainstorm and prep social media content 🧠
* Inbox support during busy periods 📩
* Tidying and organising digital files or documents 📂
* I have a zero-tolerance approach to GDPR, you must be able to * follow clear data-handling guidelines whenever customer information is involved.
💜 You’ll be a great fit if you:
* Are based in the UK and work UK daytime hours (I work generally 6am till about 8pm so between those hours would be ideal)
* Are fluent in English (native preferred)
* Have strong attention to detail and good organisational skills
Communicate clearly and reliably
* Are happy with 4 - 8 flexible hours/month (to start) but also have the ability to take on more hours as we grow
* Have experience with small business admin or e-commerce support
Bonus if you’re familiar with Canva, Google Drive, or Shopify (but not essential!)
The right person is more important than the skillset. I’m happy to show you how to do things, but I really value someone who:
* Takes notes or records processes so I don’t need to explain things multiple times
* Knows when to ask questions instead of guessing or wasting time

* Hours: Starting at 4 - 8 hours per month, with flexibility (some months busier than others)
* Rate: Please quote your hourly rate in GBP
